MARSHMALLOW CRUNCHIES
1 bag large or small marshmallows
1/3 cup butter
1 cup salted peanuts
1 cup M & Ms
1 cup raisins
1 cup rice crispie cereal
Melt the marshmallows and butter in a large microwave safe bowl.
Ad the other ingredients and mix well. Drop onto a sheet of waxpaper
by the spoonfuls (big or large). Chill till firm.
CHOCO-MALLOW NUT BITES
1 large milk chocolate bar
2 tablespoons butter
1 bag small marshmallows
1/2 cup finely crushed peanuts or walnuts.
1 box toothpicks
In a saucepan on LOW heat the butter till it melts. Break the
chocolate bar into little bitty pieces and put in the pot. Stir till
melted. Remove from heat but leave the heat on and the pot on
the stove near it. Stick a toothpick in each marshmallow and
dip it in the chocolate. Immediately roll in the crushed nuts.
Place on a piece of waxed paper and chill. The chocolate will start
to firm up so every now and again just put the pot on the burner for another
couple of seconds, stirring well and continue on.A super good treat that
doesn't last long.
MARSHMALLOW TOPPERS
1 bag of large marshmallows
1 jar of maraschino cherries, well drained
1 or two large bars of dark chocolate
Make a cross on the top of each marshmallow with a sharp knife about
1/4" deep. Push a cherry into the slit as far as you
can. Set a square of chocolate on the top of each one.
Place on a cookie sheet that has tin foil laid on it. Turn the oven
on to 300 degrees F. Put the cookie sheet on the middle rack.
Watch carefully and remove the moment the chocolate is melted.
Let cool and enjoy. The marshmallows get soft too and may lose
their shape a bit if your oven is too hot but they taste great
anyway.
WINE MALLOWS
1 bag large marshmallows
1 bottle dry red wine or sherry
Place the marshmallows on end in a shallow baking dish. Pour the
wine gently into the dish from the side not OVER the
marshmallows, to a depth of 1/4" or a little more. Gently set
in the refrigerator, uncovered, overnight. The next day the bottom
halves will be red and will have soaked up the wine. Serve chilled.
Roasted Marshmallows any old time.....
It is hard to roast marshmallows in the winter or on the 14th floor
of an apartment building without attracting the local fire
department. But for die hard mallow fans there is a way.
Grab a bag of marshmallows and a column style candle and a couple of skewers
or even forks. Light the candle, skewer a mallow and roast away.
They are just great and you can watch a movie at the same time you roast
your marshmallow. |
