BBQ TVP IN A BISCUIT
1 1/2 cups TVP granules
1 cup kraft barbecue sauce or your favourite brand
1 ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 cups Bisquick
2/3 cup milk
In a bowl place one cup of boiling water and TVP. Let sit 10 minutes
then drain off excess liquid if any. In a skillet heat a bit of oil
and brown the TVP. Add barbecue sauce; heat through. Mix Bisquick
with milk. Stir until thoroughly mixed. If mixture is dry, add a little
milk. If it’s wet add a little Bisquick. Dough should be stiff. Press Bisquick
mixture into oblong glass pan. Be sure to flour fingers as you go or it
will stick to you. Shape it up around the side like a pie crust. Pour in
TVP mixture. Top with cheese. Bake at 450 degrees for about ½
hour or until biscuit is browned. Sharp cheese maybe used instead of Mozzarella.
